‘Marvel Contest of Champions’ Celebrates 10 Years With A ‘Deadpool & Wolverine’ Event And More – TouchArcade

Is Marvel Contest of Champions (Free) really ten years old now? I mean, it must be. No one would lie about that kind of thing. It would be very rude, to say the least. And so, I am forced to confront the fact that this game I’m sure I reviewed just a little while ago is hitting the ol’ double-digits. Kabam isn’t just keeping all the champagne to itself, luckily. To celebrate the occasion, it’s got a bunch of stuff happening. If you want to know what that stuff is, I’m afraid you’ll have no choice but to click. Or do a web-search. Shoot, I didn’t think of that. Look, just ride with me on this, okay?

Ooh, nice trailer there. That’s part of the celebration, I’m told. It points towards the latest Deadpool & Wolverine event, running now through August 7th. By playing it you can get lots of rewards and some cosmetics inspired by the new movie. Apparently Deadpool’s look has been given a facelift as well, likely to bring him in line with the more modern interpretations of the character. He was a pretty early addition to the roster, after all.

Other cool things happening include the addition of Patriot and the Leader to the roster, which is one of those things that makes me think about how far in advance updates are planned. The original planned release date for Captain America: Brave New World was this year, after all. Patriot and Leader make a lot more sense for that movie than anything that’s currently going on. Well, this at least gives them time to get their seats warm before the movie hits next year. Along with those new characters, there are a bunch of other events going on. Which, you know, business as usual for this game.

So yes, if you’re fresh off seeing Deadpool & Wolverine and want to do a little mixing it up of your own, Marvel Contest of Champions is ready and waiting to accept you in its warm embrace. Ten years and still going strong. Will I be writing a story about its twentieth year? I’m not sure both of us will still be at it then, but let’s just call it an educated wish.
