About The Auric Rod
The Auric Rod is a money farming fishing rod, with the following stats.
- Lure Speed: 20
- Luck: 25
- Control: 0.05
- Resilience: 20
- Max Weight Of Fish: 2500kg
The stats aren’t anything spectacular, however, the passive ability does something pretty special. Anything caught with the Auric Rod is guaranteed to have one of five different exclusive Mutations, all of which increase the value of the catch significantly. They are as follows.
- Aurous – 200% sale value.
- Aurelian – 300% sale value.
- Aureate – 400% sale value.
- Aureolin – 500% sale value.
- Aurulent – 500% sale value.
How to Get The Auric Rod
The Auric Rod isn’t necessarily hard to find, but you may need to be quick, and lucky, to get one.
The Auric Rod is a rare drop from Sunken Chests. These appear as a special event, around every hour. You’ll know you’ve found some where you find some treasure chests floating around on wreckage in the ocean. For each chest you open, there’s a tiny chance of getting the Auric Rod. That’s unless you happen to find a Mythic Sunken Chest, that increases the likelihood by a lot.
So, if you desperately want the rod, hang out in the ocean and wait for Sunken Treasure to drop. While it’s heavy on the RNG, the good thing is the rod doesn’t require much fishing or money, so even if you’re pretty early on in your playthrough, you have just as much change of grabbing a high tier rod as players with hundreds of hours and endgame rods. So get out there and start treasure hunting!
