Yakuza: Like a Dragon roars with Xbox Game Pass today! Now, you can play all eight mainline Yakuza series from Yakuza 0 to the latest installment, Yakuza: Like a Dragon. This celebration calls for champagne – Sparkling Cannon!
That’s what I’m talking about.
Yakuza: Like a Dragon is an underdog story starring Ichiban Kasuga, a headstrong yakuza with a heart of gold. After doing 18 years of hard time at his Patriarch’s request, Ichiban hopes to return as a hero… only to be met with betrayal from his clan. Alienated and out of touch with the modern world, Ichi finds support among society’s misfits just like him, united by a cause bigger than themselves.
Starting at rock bottom with nothing but your unshakeable morals and the shirt on your back, join Ichi as he fights his way back onto the path — even if the place you end up is where you never expected.
Naturally, there are those out there that would keep Ichi and friends down, from thugs to more insidious groups. So when it’s time to throw down, Ichi’s imagination kicks into high gear and the streets of Yokohama transform into a turn-based RPG battlefield. Why? Because Ichi’s a fan of retro RPGs! Bard becomes Musician, Swordsman becomes Bodyguard, Mage becomes Chef, and much more. Build your party to perfect synergy and overcome any situation.
Now, Yakuza: Like a Dragon is a fresh start with a new protagonist, but if you are feeling nostalgic for the older Yakuza games, the Legends Costume Set is available as standalone DLC for the first time. This pack includes eight different ensembles that pay homage to Yakuza’s OGs from Majima’s slick tux to Daigo’s streetwear.
As we’ve mentioned, the previous seven games are also available with Xbox Game Pass, Yakuza 0 through Yakuza 6: The Song of Life. Different from Yakuza: Like a Dragon, these are action brawlers that follow the saga of the original series protagonist, Kazuma Kiryu, on his own path from humble beginnings to an underworld legend.
Both Yakuza: Like a Dragon and Yakuza 0 are perfect entry points into the series, so if you love a complex narrative in a larger-than-life crime drama with a ton of heart, you are in for an unforgettable ride.
Yakuza: Like a Dragon and the rest of the mainline Yakuza games are available now with Xbox Game Pass. Keep up to date with us right here on Xbox Wire and @RGGStudio on Twitter.
