Xbox update adds new Edge browser for console, remote play for PC, and more

The Xbox September Update is now rolling out to players and includes a “Play Later” Game Pass feature, official Xbox PC app remote play options, and the new Microsoft Edge browser on console.Microsoft announced the new update via Xbox Wire, offering a handful of new features to the ever-growing Xbox ecosystem. Whether you play on console or PC, there is something in this month’s update that will offer you some form of benefit. Xbox Game Pass members will now be able to use the new “Play Later” discovery tool, giving you your own list of titles to curate from the ludicrous number of titles now available in the library. No more seeing a game you want to try but then forgetting about it; just add it to your Play Later list and you can easily find it again. As a bonus, if your list is empty, you’ll be offered some personalised recommendations from your gaming habits… nice.The official Xbox app on Windows PC is also receiving a little bit of love, with the inclusion of the previously announced Xbox Cloud Gaming and Remote Play features. The dedicated tab within the app for Cloud Gaming means you won’t need to use the browser for game streaming, anymore. Plus, Xbox Remote Play brings your Xbox Series X|S and Xbox One games to your Windows PC over the internet. The feature allows you to almost mirror your console experience, so you can have a look through your full gaming catalogue and play what you like, interact with your buddies, tamper with your settings, and more.Console players can finally rejoice! The Microsoft Edge app on Xbox Series X|S and Xbox is finally being replaced with the new chromium-based app. This comes loaded with a host of features that were previously unavailable on the dated browser. Mouse and sync support is now a thing, and so is the ability to send an open browser tab directly to another signed-in device.
