Xbox to have 50+ titles at Gamescom 2024, presentations of major exclusives, and more

August has only just begun, but already the Xbox team has outlined its plans for Xbox at Gamescom 2024, with over 50 titles to be featured, hands-on opportunities at the Xbox booth, theater presentations for major upcoming Xbox exclusives like Avowed and Indiana Jones and the Great Circle, and more.Gamescom takes place from August 21-25, and Xbox will be there with more than 50 titles from Xbox Game Studios, Blizzard, Bethesda, and its third-party partners. Hands-on opportunities will be available with a number of upcoming games, including Age of Mythology: Retold, Atomfall, and Star Wars Outlaws, while there will also be theater presentations for Avowed, Indiana Jones and the Great Circle, and Starfield’s Shattered Space DLC. Guests will have an opportunity to explore different sections dedicated to PC, Console, and Cloud as they learn about all the different ways to play their favorite games.” On top of this “exclusive Gamescom 2024 prizes available through claw and gacha machines, guests have the opportunity to play the Big Green Button” for a chance to win prizes including Game Pass tokens and a variety of headsets, Cloud Gaming devices, and more.There’s also a plan in place for the Xbox livestreams taking place across the event, to showcase “first-look gameplay, developer chats, new trailers and more.” The first stream on Wednesday 21 will begin at 6am PDT/9am EDT/2pm BST/3pm CEST with a look at, among others, the recently-delayed Stalker 2, Atomfall, and Age of Mythology. The stream on the 22nd will look at Star Wars Outlaws (you can read more on this one in Sean’s Star Wars Outlaws hands-on preview!), World of Warcraft: The War Within, Towerborne, and more, while the stream on Friday the 23 will show Avowed, Ara: History Untold, and more. Each of these streams will be preceded by a Bethesda stream starting an hour before.While we wait for Gamescom, we’ve rounded up everything we know about Indiana Jones and the Great Circle, as well as other major upcoming exclusives, such as everything we know so far about Avowed.Aside from Star Wars Outlaws and whatever upcoming Game Pass games Microsoft might have planned, August itself looks pretty quiet for major releases, and it’s not until after Gamescom that things start to pick up. This Gamescom list is an interesting look at what’s to come, especially since Microsoft chairman and CEO Satya Nadella recently said the Xbox content pipeline “has never been stronger”.
