Microsoft has begun testing a higher resolution dashboard for Xbox Series X consoles when connected to a 4K display, and certain Xbox Insiders can check it out now. The update, which is currently only available to Xbox Insiders in the Alpha Skip Ahead and Alpha rings, will bump up the resolution of the UI on Xbox Series X consoles that are connected to a 4K display. The release notes for the update over on Xbox Wire detail that after installing the update, areas of the UI, such as Home and Guide, will be displayed in a “higher native resolution for increased sharpness and text readability.” Unfortunately, this update is only for Xbox Series X consoles, it’s unknown if Xbox Series S consoles will get a similar update, and it also does not bring HDR to the dashboard. The update is available to download now for Xbox Insiders in the Alpha Skip-Ahead and Alpha Insider rings.
