Gigantic’s servers closed in 2018, discontinuing its 26 Gigantic achievements. That was the last we heard of the 5v5 MOBA hero shooter until the surprise announcement that it would be returning to Xbox this April as Gigantic: Rampage Edition. Check out the trailer below:Gigantic: Rampage Edition is developed by Abstraction Games and published by Gearbox Publishing. “We’re thrilled to unveil Gigantic: Rampage Edition, the definitive release of the beloved MOBA hero shooter, Gigantic, created by Motiga,” the announcement post reads. “This premium edition promises both veteran players and newcomers an exhilarating journey into the world of team-based multiplayer gaming.”Gigantic: Rampage Edition launches on April 9 for Xbox Series X|S and Xbox One for $19.99. This new edition “amplifies the original game’s thrills with dynamic gameplay, a diverse hero roster, and exciting new features” and promises to have no microtransactions, meaning “players can unlock all content through gameplay or in-game currency.”More specifically, the game will add new heroes, a new Rush mode, “upgraded maps,” cross-platform support, and more customization options, as well as free updates after launch with more new content.Gigantic originally launched in 2017 after development troubles involving layoffs and a lack of funding, and announced its upcoming server closure the following year.If you’re wanting to check out Gigantic: Rampage Edition before it launches in full in April, there will be a closed beta test from February 22 to showcase the Rush mode — although this appears to be only on Steam. There’s no word yet on what the achievements will look like for this Gigantic return, or whether there will be new ones to match the new content — we’re waiting to hear more on this. Thanks to RDS for the news tip!
