Microsoft will reportedly introduce an Xbox Game Pass ‘Family Plan’ later this year that will give up to five users in one household access to the service, similar to Nintendo and Spotify’s family plans. As laid out in a report by Windows Central, sources familiar with Microsoft’s plans say that the company will be moving ahead with an Xbox Game Pass family plan, which we can expect to launch sometime this year. This will reportedly allow up to five users on the plan, who are located in the same country, access to “games across the entire library” from a single subscription managed by a central account holder.Pricing is currently unknown for the plan, though it is expected to be far cheaper than paying out for five separate Game Pass subscriptions, and it’s unclear if there will be separate family plans for Xbox Game Pass and PC Game Pass or if it will be exclusive to Xbox Game Pass Ultimate. Xbox chief Phil Spencer has said in the past that a family plan is something Microsoft would like to do. Hopefully, we’ll hear more on the new subscription option soon.
