Xbox Game Pass gets another day-one addition in early 2024 with Botany Manor

The 2024 sections of our list of upcoming Game Pass games are filling out nicely, and another new addition has just been announced, with narrative puzzle adventure game Botany Manor joining at launch next spring.Botany Manor is where botanist Arabella Greene lives, having retired with “a collection of rare, long-forgotten plants that require some research to help them live again.” Developer Balloon Studios says we’ll “play as Arabella and explore the stunning historic manor and its grounds to look for clues in her notes, books, posters, and items scattered around the residence to determine the correct set of circumstances to help the flora flourish. Unlock new seeds and plant them. Interactable items around the property that can be turned and flipped will provide information to help you solve each gardening puzzle, grow the plants, and discover their mysterious qualities.”Botany Manor sounds a little like Strange Horticulture in that you’ll be figuring out the secrets of plants, but it looks to have a completely different vibe. Strange Horticulture is ominous and full of macabre secrets, and excellent too (we loved it in our first impressions) but Botany Manor looks to be more laidback, as Balloon Studios says “Botany Manor is a relaxing and peaceful environment, feel free to stop and smell the roses.” You’ll be working to understand the plants in your care, but you’ll also apparently learn more about the trials Arabella faced as a woman working in a scientific field.We don’t have any more specifics on that release window yet beyond spring 2024, but we’ll keep an eye out for more news — and for those Botany Manor achievements.
