With the special Game Awards edition of Day of the Devs live stream and the recent CCXP23 convention, we’ve had a bunch of Xbox Game Pass news drop, including new games coming to the service and some updated release windows. Three new games have been announced for Xbox Game Pass: Nirvana Noir, Open Roads, and Sopa, all of which are either “coming soon” or set to join the service in 2024. Nirvana NoirOpen RoadsSopaNirvana Noir is a sequel to the arty adventure game Genesis Noir, which recently left Xbox Game Pass. According to developer Feral Cat Den, Nirvana Noir is a “noir adventure beyond time and space” where a city of cosmic beings is “under threat in two parallel realities – one where the Big Bang was never fired, the other exploding in color and sin.” You will need to solve the mysteries of the “Bigger Bang” to save the city. Nirvana Noir is coming soon to Xbox Series X|S and Xbox Game Pass. Next up is road trip adventure game Open Roads, which launches for Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and Xbox Game Pass on February 22, 2024. After discovering a cache of old letters hidden away in the attic of their house, Tess Devine and her mother Opal set out on a road trip to explore abandoned and forgotten family properties to solve the mystery of a dark secret. Announced during CCXP23 in Brazil was Sopa, an “emotional narrative adventure” inspired by artist Hayao Miyazaki. When looking for a potato in his grandmother’s pantry, Miho gets pulled into a strange and fantastical land where he must walk in the footsteps of a great traveler. However, each time he returns to Nana’s kitchen, “things have changed in unexpected ways.” Sopa will join Xbox Game Pass in 2024. Day of the Devs also brought us updates on already announced Game Pass titles, Lightyear Frontier and Flock. Open-world farming adventure game Lightyear Frontier will now launch into the service in March 2024, whereas multiplayer adventure title Flock will join Game Pass in “spring 2024.”With The Game Awards taking place today, hopefully we’ll hear more on new games coming to Game Pass next year.
