Surprise! Hunt: Showdown 1896 and For The King II join Xbox Game Pass later this month. Although they weren’t included in Microsoft’s official Xbox Game Pass December 2024 lineup announcement, developers of both games have confirmed that Hunt Showdown 1896 and For The King II will join Game Pass on December 12. Hunt: Showdown 1896The excellent Hunt: Showdown 1896 brings an unforgiving first-person PvP extraction shooter to Game Pass later this week. Set in a dark corner of the world that has been lost to history, you are tasked with hunting down twisted monsters for a rich bounty. However, aside from gruesome enemies trying to kill you at every turn, you’ll also need to be on the lookout for other hunters who want to kill you for your loot and your bounty. Hunt: Showdown 1896 can be played solo or with pals in a team of up to three players. If you missed it earlier this year, developer Crytek shut down the multiplayer shooter on Xbox One and relaunched it as an Xbox Series XS-only title. Queen Rosomon has turned against her subjects and forced them into a world of servitude and darkness. Playing either solo or with pals in co-op, you will adventure through Fahrul to take down the despot queen and bring an end to her reign. With For The King II, developer IronOak Games has added numerous improvements over the original game. Aside from adding a fourth character to a party, the biggest change has been to the game’s turn-based combat, which now has a new tactical layer by way of a battle grid positioning system. As for games dropping out of Game Pass, Microsoft recently announced that all of the games leaving Game Pass in December 2024, which includes Rise of the Tomb Raider and Lego 2K Drive.
