Microsoft is celebrating 20 Years of Xbox this month with an Xbox FanFest Halo 3 virtual 2v2 tournament with $25,000 in prizes up for grabs. The competition is available for players signed up to Xbox FanFest in North America (US, Canada, and Mexico). It’s time for another celebration for Xbox’s 20th birthday, this time offering us a chance to compete in 2v2 Spartan combat for a $25,000 prize pool. The Xbox FanFest Halo 3 virtual tournament is available to players in North America (US, Canada, and Mexico) who are signed up to Xbox FanFest and own an Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, or PC. To enter the competition, head over to the Xbox FanFest website and sign up, then opt-in to the tournament through the FanFest Exclusives page to receive an email with a registration code for smash.gg. If you can’t join the tournament, you’ll be able to watch the Weekly Qualifiers each Sunday on the Xbox Twitch channel, with the Series Finale broadcast on July 31st. Matchmaking ladders will be open each Friday and Saturday, in which teams will rack up points to try and join the top eight teams in a double elimination bracket in the weekly qualifiers every Sunday. The Series Finale will be held on July 31st for the month’s top 16 teams in a double elimination bracket. Throughout July, a different set of maps and game types will be available for the tournament which players will need to download. To find out more, head to the Game Types tab on the smash.gg page.
