It’s an uneasy time as we wait to hear what Microsoft has to say about the future of Xbox later this week. Xbox exclusives coming to other platforms is one particularly consistent rumor, and the latest report suggests that Hi-Fi Rush and Pentiment will be the first Xbox exclusives to cross to PlayStation and Nintendo Switch.According to “sources” who spoke to The Verge, Hi-Fi Rush and Pentiment will indeed be the first two games to move onto “rival consoles.” This isn’t the first we’ve heard of Hi-Fi Rush gearing up for such a move. Earlier this month, a datamine suggested that Hi-Fi Rush would come to PS5 and Switch. It’s not just Hi-Fi Rush, either; other reports have suggested that Sea of Thieves could sail to other consoles, that big Xbox exclusives like Starfield and Indiana Jones could be heading to PS5, and that even Gears of War is being considered for PS5. The Verge’s report also suggests that Sea of Thieves is set to come to other consoles, and that it’ll even be as soon as later this year. This is the first we’ve heard of Pentiment potentially coming to other consoles, however. We’re all waiting to hear what Microsoft has to say when it reveals the future of Xbox in an Official Xbox Podcast episode on Thursday. Phil Spencer, Sarah Bond, and Matt Booty are all expected to appear to “share updates on the Xbox business.” Xbox is being coy about what’ll be said — all we have so far is a report that Phil Spencer reassured employees that Microsoft won’t stop making consoles.
