Update: We now also have a UK Xbox Design Lab link — shoutout to Tom_Holland on Twitter for sending us the UK link!Original story: Microsoft’s official controller customisation suite Design Lab returns today, meaning fans can go back to making their very own garish Xbox controller colour schemes. The service first began several years back, but it was put on pause while Microsoft focused on taking Xbox Series X|S to market. Now that the new consoles are almost nine months old, the time is apparently right to bring back the ever-popular option to let players design and buy their own custom controllers. This time around, you’ll be getting the new Series X|S controller, and a few new colours and options have been added to allow for even more possibilities. As before, you’re also able to add a laser engraving to your pad for a small extra fee. It could be your name, your Gamertag, a favourite phrase, or just a word you find funny… whatever you like, really, but don’t expect Microsoft to write rude things on your mess of a controller. Seriously, we tried.Customised controllers (minus the engraving) are only a fraction more expensive than standard ones at $69.99, so if you’re in the market for a new pad, you might as well get one you can truly call your own for a few extra bucks. We’ve only seen a US Dollar price for Design Lab controllers so far, but the Xbox Wire post announcing the service’s return does state that custom controllers are available “in the US, Canada and most Western European countries.” Will you be picking up a colourful new Xbox Series X|S controller courtesy of the relaunched Xbox Design Lab suite? Let us know!
