Last week, Xbox president Sarah Bond announced that players in the US will be able to “play and purchase Xbox games” via the Android Xbox app, which would be the perfect time for Microsoft to open Xbox Cloud Gaming to non-Game Pass games. Well, it sounds like the company is doing just that, with multiple reports suggesting that some players will be able to use Xbox Cloud Gaming to stream their owned games in November.Xbox Cloud Gaming will reportedly soon support non-Xbox Game Pass titlesAccording to reports from The Verge and Windows Central, Xbox Cloud Gaming will soon support your full gaming library. The project, reportedly codenamed Project Lapland, is said to be rolling out to Xbox Insiders in November for testing. The Verge notes that “Once Microsoft’s work to enable a full game library on Xbox Cloud Gaming is complete, you’ll be able to purchase an Xbox game on Android and immediately stream it to your device,” although “some publishers will hold certain games back due to licensing requirements or deals.”Windows Central also notes that the entire library of Xbox games might not all be available immediately, and we could instead see Microsoft expand the available library in batches similar to Nvidia GeForce Now.The new Cloud Gaming feature will reportedly only be available via the Android Xbox app in the US initially — if Google doesn’t find a way around its new court-ordered restrictions — although Microsoft is apparently planning to support it via the Xbox Cloud Gaming website too. All regions that are supported by Xbox Cloud Gaming should then be able to use the features on numerous of devices, including Samsung TVs, Amazon Fire Sticks, iOS devices, and more. Earlier this year, Microsoft made significant changes to its Xbox Game Pass tiers, introducing a new Game Pass Standard subscription. We’re yet to see a dedicated Cloud Gaming tier, with subscribers currently having to become Xbox Game Pass Ultimate members to access the feature, but that could soon change. Windows Central reports that Microsoft is currently “working on a cloud-only Xbox subscription plan for the future.”Would you use Xbox Cloud Gaming to stream your owned games and not just the best games on Game Pass?
