Head of Xbox Phil Spencer has said that he is still “confident” that the Activision Blizzard deal will go ahead and that Microsoft continues to seek out solutions with regulators.Despite the setbacks posed by the UK’s Competition and Markets Authority’s decision to block Microsoft’s acquisition of Activision Blizzard, head of Xbox Phil Spencer has said that he’s “confident” that the deal will still go through.Microsoft continues to find solutions with regulators for the Activision Blizzard dealWhen speaking during an Xbox event called What’s Next for Gaming yesterday (via PC Gamer), Spencer reiterated that “Microsoft is very committed, we’re very committed” to the Activision Blizzard deal. “We’re out there to find solutions with the regulators that have questions, and that’s what we’re actively doing,” Spencer said. “We’re trying to get to solutions. We did that with the European Commission. I’m confident we’ll find solutions in the other areas as well. It’s taking time, it’s taking focus, but I’m confident.”While the European Commission and a number of other regulators around the world have approved the deal, Microsoft is currently appealing the CMA’s decision to block the deal in the UK.
