If you’re looking forward to collecting the New World: Aeternum achievements when Amazon Games’ Xbox RPG launches on October 15 and happen to be an Xbox Insider, it could be worth checking out the New World: Aeternum closed beta. It’s currently available on Xbox Series X|S and will run until Wednesday, July 31, so you only have a limited amount of time to try it out.New World: Aeternum closed beta now available for Xbox InsidersNew World: Aeternum is an action-RPG set on the supernatural island of Aeternum, a huge world filled with danger and opportunity. We play as a shipwrecked survivor who must fight, forage, and forge their own destiny on the mysterious island as we customize their look, skills, and abilities to take on the many foes standing in our way. Xbox Wire says that Xbox Insiders looking to give the game a go can now apply to join the closed beta via the Insider app on Xbox Series X|S. It’ll run until Wednesday, July 31, and includes cross-play with players on PlayStation 5. Unfortunately, it is only available in select regions, though, so only North American players located in the US and Canada and European players located in Austria, Belgium, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Italy, Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Slovakia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, and the United Kingdom are able to join. The closed beta offers you a chance to experience the early portion of the game, such as creating your character, testing a number of weapons, exploring its many zones, and more. From Sunday, July 28, Amazon Games will roll out a second phase, offering you a chance to play a pre-created level 65 character so you can dive into some of the game’s endgame content. You’re free to continue leveling the character you first started playing with if you wish, but the option will be there to try out harder content from the later stages of the game as well. The New World: Aeternum closed beta FAQ also tells us that no progress made during this test will carry over when the game launches in full on October 15.
