Since its highly praised release on PlayStation and PC in August, many players have been waiting to learn when we can unlock the Black Myth: Wukong achievements on Xbox. Sadly, things have been quiet from developer Game Science and Xbox. However, Phil Spencer seemingly knows if we can expect Black Myth: Wukong on Xbox, but ever the shrewd businessman, he’s not telling us.Phil Spencer dodges questions about Black Myth: Wukong’s Xbox launchDuring a recent interview with Game File, Microsoft gaming CEO Phil Spencer said, “I do know,” when asked if Black Myth: Wukong would be coming to Xbox at some point. When pressed further, Spencer replied, “I can’t announce that.” There could be many reasons behind the scenes for Spencer not to announce the news, but sadly, it doesn’t reassure players hoping to dive into what appears to be one the best action RPGs of the year.It does seem likely that Black Myth: Wukong will be coming to Xbox still, as the game was rated for Xbox Series X|S by the ESRB last month, so perhaps we’ll hear something during The Game Awards in December similar to how Baldur’s Gate 3 was confirmed for Xbox in 2023.Following Black Myth’s launch in August, reports surfaced suggesting it had been delayed on Xbox due to a Sony exclusivity deal, and not due to technical issues with the Xbox port as was officially announced. Several other reports alluded to Sony only paying to help Game Science port the game to PlayStation, which confused the situation even more. Shortly after, however, Forbes shared a statement from an Xbox spokesperson, which confirmed that the delay was not due to technical limitations with Xbox consoles, saying that the company would “prefer not to comment on the deals made by our partners with other platform holders.”No matter the reason for the delay, we hope Black Myth: Wukong arrives as a good contender for our list of the best Xbox RPGs soon.
