The wait to collect the Black Myth: Wukong achievements could soon be over as Black Myth: Wukong has been rated for Xbox by the ESRB. It’s still unclear when we’ll be able to dive into the upcoming Xbox RPG, but hopefully, Game Science doesn’t leave us waiting too much longer.ESRB rates Black Myth: Wukong for Xbox Series X|SBlack Myth: Wukong has been the center of some controversy in recent months following its Xbox Series X|S delay in June. At the time, developer Game Science said that the game didn’t meet its quality standards on Xbox, delaying the game indefinitely until those standards were met. However, after Black Myth’s launch on PS5 and PC in August, multiple reports suggested that Xbox hadn’t been notified about any technical issues causing Black Myth: Wukong’s delay and that it was instead due to an exclusivity deal with Sony. With that said, though, some industry insiders suggested that Sony hadn’t paid to keep the game off of Xbox. Not long after the initial reports, Forbes shared a statement from a Microsoft spokesperson that confirmed that Black Myth: Wukong’s delay wasn’t due to technical limitations on Xbox consoles. “As we have said before, we’re excited for the launch of Black Myth: Wukong on Xbox Series X|S and are working with Game Science to bring the game to our platforms. We’d prefer not to comment on the deals made by our partners with other platform holders but we can confirm that the delay is not due to Xbox platform limitations that have been raised to us.”While it’s still unclear exactly why Black Myth: Wukong was delayed on Xbox, the wait could soon be over, as the ESRB has given the game a Teen rating on Xbox Series X|S for its use of blood and gore, language, partial nudity, and violence. Black Myth: Wukong is an action-RPG based on the classic Chinese novel, Journey to the West. Playing as the Destined One, you traverse a realm filled with creatures from Chinese mythology, mastering combat by combining spells, learning various staff-wielding techniques, and finding new equipment, as you attempt to find the truth behind a legend. The game has been a hit with fans on PS5 and PC, picking up an “Overwhelmingly Positive” rating on Steam, so it could be one of the year’s best Xbox games when it finally launches on Xbox Series X|S.
