Here are some of the best heroes to pick if you want to line up alongside Drow Ranger.

Drow Ranger is one of the most recognizable heroes in Dota 2 that you can often find in PUB and pro games. Despite not being the most interesting hero to play with, Drow has a lot of firepower that makes her dangerous. So, obviously, many people utilize her potential to gain MMR.

Unlike other agility carries in the game, Drow Ranger is a hero who rarely carries the game independently. Her main strength is the fact that she provides tons of damage to other ranged heroes from her team. In other words, it is among the few team-based carries in Dota 2 that requires team coordination in order to be successful.

Numerous heroes can work really well with Drow Ranger, so let’s go over some of them.

Templar Assassin

The first hero on this list is none other than Templar Assassin, a legendary mid-laner that is capable of annihilating the enemy’s lineup. Apart from doing insane damage on her own, Drow Ranger’s aura makes the hero even more powerful, especially later on.TA scales well after purchasing a couple of items, but she is even more dangerous with Drow’s aura. This allows her to become one of the best pushers in the game.

Although Drow Ranger can be played as a mid laner, TA is definitely better in this position. In other words, if both heroes have to be played in a single Drow will have to take the safe lane so that TA can shine in mid.

Shadow Fiend

Shadow Fiend is the second hero that works well with Drow Ranger. This is another popular mid laner that is capable of inflicting tons of damage. However, unlike TA, which only focuses on physical damage, SF is a great spell caster, especially when he gets to level seven.

Although SF is one of the heroes who can purchase different kinds of items, he has to purchase physical damage items to take advantage of Drow Ranger’s aura. Unfortunately, both heroes are really fragile, which is why they are not paired that often.

Windranger

Windrager and Drow Ranger are one of the classic hero combinations in Dota 2 across all skill brackets. Together, the heroes can create a lot of frustration, which makes them ideal in a team. WR is not a good carry, but she’s pretty strong in the mid-lane. Even though she’s not the best right-clicker during the late game, thanks to Drow Ranger’s aura, WR can “erase” almost every hero in a matter of seconds.

Let’s also not forget that this hero is capable of pushing towers really fast. This is one of the main reasons why people pick him with Drow – they want to end the game as fast as possible. To achieve this, they need a couple of other heroes, such as the one mentioned below.

Centaur Warrunner

The first hero on this list that doesn’t directly benefit from Drow Ranger’s aura is Centaur Warrunner. Although this is a melee hero known for being tanky, he works well in most Drow combos thanks to his ultimate. Even though the ranged-agility hero is capable of doing a lot of damage, she doesn’t have a reliable escape mechanism. This is where Centaur comes to help because his ultimate is usually enough for the deadly carry to escape from tricky situations.

Centaur Warrunner also works well in most of Drow’s setups because he is tanky. Having four-range heroes has its advantages, but there are also loads of drawbacks. That’s why someone from the team needs to have at least one melee hero who can soak up some of the incoming damage.

Sniper

It is safe to say that Sniper is one of the most annoying heroes in Dota 2. Many people underestimate him because he is not that powerful early on, especially before he gets level six. However, once the hero gets enough items, he becomes tough to deal with. Needless to say, Sniper can be even more deadly, thanks to Drow Ranger’s aura.

One of the big problems of having these two heroes in the same team is that they are extremely fragile. Although Sniper can do tons of damage and keep the enemy team from pushing his base, he can also die in a matter of seconds.

Nature’s Prophet

Nature’s Prophet is also known as Furion, and it is one of the most diverse heroes in the game. Some of the pro Dota 2 teams pick him as a support, but he can also work as a mid laner, offlaner, and even carry. Needless to say, most people prefer him as mid laner when they have Drow Ranger in their team.

Nature’s Prophet requires a lot of items to be effective as a core. Fortunately, his ultimate allows him to farm a lot faster. Thanks to Drow’s Aura, he does even more physical damage, which will allow him to purchase his core items a lot faster.

Medusa

The last hero that we’d like to include in this setup is Medusa, a hero that is notorious for being one of the most dangerous carries in the game. What’s interesting about Medusa is that her main strength is her survivability. Once she gets enough items, she can easily rip through the enemies like a knife through butter. Sadly, she doesn’t do a lot of damage, which is one of the reasons why some people purchase a Divine Rapier.

The good news is that you don’t need to take any unnecessary risks if you have a Drow Ranger in your team. This hero’s aura works incredibly well for Medusa because the hero will do significantly more damage. While it is true that having two greedy late-game monsters is risky, they have tons of firepower.
