These five Power Five head coaches are firmly on college football hot seat watch in Week 7.

The more games these college football head coaches lose, the sooner they will be out of a job.

Not going to lie, it has been bananas when it comes to college head coaches getting the ax this season. Thus far, we have seen Power Five jobs open up at Arizona State, Colorado, Georgia Tech, Nebraska and Wisconsin. And we have not gotten to the midway point of October yet?! While it may be a minute before a few more are told their services are no longer needed, it only takes one…

Here are five college football head coaches who are feeling the heat the most ahead of Week 7.

College football hot seat watch, Week 7: Who is feeling the heat the most?

David Shaw

Stanford Cardinal (1-4)

David Shaw may lose his job at his alma mater if Stanford finishes in last place

There was a time when Stanford football was good under David Shaw. Unfortunately, we are years removed from that being a reality. Although he inherited a fantastic program once Jim Harbaugh left for the NFL over a decade ago, Stanford might be the worst team in the Pac-12 not named Colorado. If apathetic Colorado would fire Karl Dorrell midseason, what does that say about Shaw?

What it signifies is two things for the Stanford program. One, football is no longer important, as the Cardinal do not feel they can compete when other elite academic institutions have their stuff together on the gridiron. And two, college football has evolved many times over since the last time Stanford was good. It would be a shame if the game passed Shaw by. We have to wonder if it has.

If Shaw is no longer interested in winning games, it is time to bring in a new voice as head coach.
