The Dead Rails Holy Water weapon is one of the best to collect! It allows you to deal damage over time from a distance whilst you ready your shotgun.
Dead Rails requires some defensive measures! For more on the game, take a look at our Dead Rails Snake Oil guide and our Dead Rails Vault Code walkthrough.
Dead Rails Holy Water
What is Holy Water and how do you get your hands on a bottle of it?
How to Get Holy Water
Like every other item in Dead Rails, a bottle of Holy Water has a random chance of spawning when you investigate buildings. As the train travels across the tracks, you stop off at a range of stations, all of which have various randomly generated buildings.
I always recommend exploring every building you come across, especially when you can’t see what’s inside properly. You never know when a useful item is hiding in the corner! Holy water has a chance to spawn on tables and the ground. There’s no telling which buildings they appear in, so check everywhere if you can!
What is Holy Water?
Holy Water is a usable weapon in Dead Rails. Whilst you can open the bottle to splash enemies with it during combat, you can also strategically cover the ground with the Holy Water as you watch zombies make their way towards you. This deals damage to them whilst you’re trying to do another task or get away from them and back on your train.
Unfortunately, it doesn’t stop them from approaching you though, as they still decide to walk through the Holy Water puddle. When pouring the Holy Water on the ground, a neon green liquid appears to show you where the AoE is. Any zombie or supernatural enemy that walks into the Holy Water takes damage!
It’s a great secondary weapon when you’re low on bullets, but using a Crucifix or Molotiv are strong alternative. Bottles of Holy Water are single use though, so make sure to stock up whenever you find them.
