Where Is Xur Today? (July 7-11) Destiny 2 Exotic Items And Xur Location Guide

It’s a new Friday in Destiny 2, and like clockwork, Xur has arrived to offer some of the finest Exotic armor pieces and weapons in this neck of the cosmic woods. If you’re planning to play for a flawless run in Trials of Osiris, it’s always worth checking in with the intergalactic arms dealer to see if he has any high-stat gear to give you an edge in that competition. Here’s where you can find Xur this week and what the Agent of the Nine has for sale.

This week you can find Xur in the Tower, inside the Hangar. For his weapon, Xur is offering Coldheart. Hunters can pick up the Wormhusk Crown helmet; Titans can grab the Stronghold gauntlets; and Warlocks can buy the Wings of Sacred Dawn armor.

Xur Location

Spawn in using the Courtyard transmat zone in the Tower to find Xur this week. Head left and down the stairs to enter the Hangar section, then hang another left. Make your way to the north end of the area and look for a staircase that will take you onto a catwalk, where Xur is waiting.

Exotic Armor

Stronghold (Exotic Titan gauntlets)

For the Titan who loves to play Highlander, Stronghold is the go-to Exotic for when you want to specialize in swords ahead of that weapon archetype’s upcoming overhaul. This Exotic maximizes guard stats on equipped swords, lets you take reduced damage when guarding, and rapidly damaging targets after blocking shots with a sword grants a limited amount of restoration. Stats-wise, it has high resilience, discipline, and strength, average recovery, and extremely low mobility and intellect. You’ll want to boost your intellect to help with your Super cooldowns, but a lack of mobility isn’t something to worry about here given how Titans are built.

Wormhusk Crown (Exotic Hunter helmet)

This gaudy Exotic has a simple function, as dodging gives you a small health and shield bump. With the right build, short cooldowns on the Hunter dodge ability can make this a useful Exotic for getting a second wind, especially when it’s paired with a shotgun to help you keep your distance at close range. For the stats, it has high mobility that works well with the Burning Souls perk and an absurdly high strength stat for when you want to deliver a killer melee attack. The downside here is that everything else is below average, with resilience, recovery, discipline, and intellect all featuring sub-par numbers.

Wings of Sacred Dawn (Exotic Warlock armor)

Wings of Sacred Dawn is an extremely situational Exotic, as its primary perk will briefly suspend you in midair and improve airborne accuracy, reduce flinching, and offer you some damage resistance if you have your Dawnblade Super equipped. That’s not great for PvE, but depending on the map, it can be beneficial in PvP encounters. The stats on this Exotic are interesting, as it has excellent discipline and intellect, average resilience, and low strength. Mobility has the highest number here, but that’s not exactly a must-have stat to pump up when playing as a Warlock.

Exotic Weapons

Coldheart

The original trace rifle, Coldheart has evolved over the years to become an essential part of any Arc specialist’s arsenal. Its Cold Fusion perk means that the weapon can deal more damage the longer it remains on a target, and you’ll also generate a steady supply of Ion Traces to help you refill your ability energy meters more quickly.

Hawkmoon

Eye of the Storm is a fairly popular perk for PvP builds of Hawkmoon, and it usually pairs very well with the Smooth Grip perk. That pairing isn’t here, leading to an otherwise average roll of the hand cannon this week.

Dead Man’s Tale

For DMT this week, Vorpal Weapon is a pretty great trait that deals increased damage against bosses, vehicles, and Guardians who have an active Super. It also pairs very nicely with the included Fitted Stock perk on this roll, and alongside Ricochet Rounds and Smallbore, DMT is a must-have weapon this weekend if you can afford it.

Xur also offers the Xenology quest every week, which requires you to complete 21 Vanguard strikes or win Crucible and Gambit matches so that you can earn an Exotic Cipher. These are normally used to buy old Exotics from a kiosk in the Tower, but from this season, you’ll be able to spend them at Master Rahool to get the Exotics that you want. The cap on Exotic Ciphers has also increased, as you’ll now be able to hold up to five of them at a time.

Xur is present every weekend in Destiny 2, starting with the daily reset at 10 AM PT / 1 PM ET each Friday. His exact location is always a mystery when he first arrives, as he is not listed on the map, and for novice players, he can be easy to miss. However, there are a set number of locations where he takes up residence, including the Tower Hangar area, on Nessus in Watcher’s Grave, and in the Winding Cove area of the EDZ.
