The shutout streak for Florida football could be in jeopardy vs. Georgia.

One of the nation’s longest and most impressive streaks in college football is in jeopardy.

Florida football has scored in a record 417 straight games but has yet to score vs. Georgia in their annual rivalry game.

Florida football has scored in 417 straight games dating back to 1988.

The Gators have been one of the most explosive offenses since the late 80s but exploded in the 1990s under head coach Steve Spurrier and his Fun-n-Gun offense that produced Heisman winner Danny Wuerffel. Florida has scored in every game dating back to 1988.

Even when Spurrier left for the NFL, the Gators’ offense continued to put up big numbers, albeit not quite to the same heights under the Head Ball Coach. It peaked again under Urban Meyer who saw Chris Leak and Tim Tebow light up scoreboards under his watch.

Even under Jim McElwain and Will Muschamp, the Gators were able to keep the streak alive.

However, the stout Georgia defense could be the team that snaps the streak and turns the heat up on Dan Mullen’s seat.
