The Georgia Bulldogs may have what it takes to set an all-time record for most players ever selected in a given NFL Draft.

Expect for there to be plenty of former Georgia Bulldogs to hear the names called over the next three days in the 2022 NFL Draft.

Georgia is coming off its first national championship in 41 years. Led by an all-time defensive front-seven, the bulk of Kirby Smart’s players who are expecting to hear the names called between now and Saturday star on his side of the ball. Of course, the Dawgs had several skill position players who certainly did enough in college to merit being drafted by an NFL franchise.

With the Dawgs on the verge of making history, what is the record for the most players ever taken in one draft out of one university?

NFL Draft: What is the record for most players ever drafted out of one school?

The modern NFL Draft has its roots in 1994. This is when the draft went down to the seven-round variety NFL fans experience today. Over the last quarter century and change, 14 schools have had 10 or more its players drafted in a given spring. The most players selected out of one school in any given year is 14 with 2004 Ohio State doing it first and 2020 LSU later equalling that amount.

For Georgia to break the record held by Ohio State and LSU, the Dawgs would need to have 15 players drafted in the seven-round event. This would also be the first time Georgia has had 10 or more players drafted in the modern NFL. However, the all-time record including drafts prior to 1994 belongs to 1984 Texas, as an impressive 17 Longhorns were taken in that particular draft.

It will not be easy, but Georgia stands as good of a chance as anyone to get to 15 players drafted.
