Welcome to the Locker Room. Here, we can talk about all of FIFA 22’s Ultimate Team mode news once a week. That includes a list of the Team of the Week cards, including our chosen pick, as well as the newest SBCs and the objectives for the week. Team of the WeekIt is quite the 19th week in the world of Ultimate Team. Big cards just keep rolling out and there is plenty of good value to be had either on the market or in the objective players that are starting to drop. The team of the week is nice and clean, with Kimmich and Varatti being the stand out pair. The former, a Bayern Munich CDM, has dominant technical ability as well as high defensive numbers. It is actually a bit of an odd card in that it’s hard to pin down how to use him, but I would actually suggest bumping him into CM as a slow, possession moving, box-to-box player or a Tarquista. Putting someone like Zakaria just behind him and pairing Kimmich with a leaner and faster CM, someone like Nkunku or NumbersUp Reyna, will help keep him balanced. He obviously has a Headliners card that is a step above, but it is also double the price. Veratti is a much simpler card to deal with because he doesn’t have the physicality to tempt you into putting him into CDM. Keep him in a central position and just let his technical qualities shine by ensuring the rest of your midfield is balanced. Our Pick: Akanji (Dortmund — CB — 85)The Featured Player this week is also our pick of the week. Akanji is also another Bundesliga centre-back after last weeks pick of St. Juste. On the plus side though, you could pair the two together to make a nearly unbeatable combination. Akanji has enough in those three key departments — pace, physicality, and defending — that an Anchor chemistry style basically gives him mid-90s. There isn’t much more to say other than the fact he has surprisingly good dribbling and to watch out for his relatively small 6’2″ stature. SBCsWe have picked the currently available SBCs and priced them, as per FUTbin’s amazing listings. Varane has this 92-rated Flashback card that is nearly a million coins. If you have the money though, I mean nothing is stopping you from doing this, is it? He has long been one of the best centre-backs in FIFA, so this card is no different with great stats in every crevice. While for many the excitement will be about Varane, for us it is all about Dest, the Barcelona RB. He might not be with the Catalans for too long, but this 88-rated card will forever live on. It’s about 100k, but holy moly, it is worth so much more. Pace, power, good defensive numbers, good passing. This card has to be the first on your agenda, particularly seeing as he can reach 93-rated with the right chemistry styles. Objectives and Misc. The Silver Star is Gerrit Holtman. To earn him you have to get six assists, eight goals, and three wins in the Silver Lounge FUT friendly. Seria A team Venezia’s right-winger Verde has a pretty splendid 97-rated card that requires you to head to the TOTY friendly and play a few games. You must score in 11 separate matches with four-star skilled players, score a volley, win four, and score three using Serie A players. Let us know your pick outs! Is anybody taking your fancy?
