Welcome to the Locker Room. Here, we can talk about all of FIFA 22’s Ultimate Team mode news once a week. That includes a list of the Team of the Week cards, including our chosen pick, as well as the newest SBCs and the objectives for the week. Team of the WeekThis is a terrible week. Look at it. Horrible! Headlining this bunch is obviously Sadio Mané out on the LW. This 91-rated card is exactly what it says on the tin: great. It’s just a bit boring, isn’t it? As is Di Maria out in RW with an 88-rated card — it has totally average stats. I suppose he is technically competent, but why even bother picking it up? There are better cards than this. Ryan in goal is 84-rated alongside Octavia, the RM from Porto. Again, there is no need to be grabbing these guys. Our Pick: Toko Ekambi (Lyon — ST — 84)Of a horrible selection, we were tempted just to bin off our pick of the week. However, the featured player Toko Ekambi has been fun to watch in the African Cup of Nations, so we are giving him a shout out. Good pace, good shooting, and somehow decent dribbling make for a totally competent card that is outclassed in every area by, like, four other Ligue 1 strikers. But, the man has been picking up goals in AFCON and nearly got Cameroon to the final, despite dribbling like a man without any comprehension of physics. SBCsWe have picked the currently available SBCs and priced them, as per FUTbin’s amazing listings. There are some cool cards here! Our favourite is probably Olivier Giroud’s 89-rated Player Moments card. It just looks like fun, and last year he had a Flashback card that I was very fond of because I could blast a goal from anywhere. It will set you back around 80k, but as a decent bench backup for a Seria A squad or a cheap striking alternative, I think you could do much worse. That makes it a shame to say that Lautaro Martínez has a much better card for around 230k. It is a TOTY honourable mention with dominant statistics. If you have the money, I don’t think we will see a better Serie A striker until the end of the season. In CB, we have Simon Kjær with a card worth 177k. This is good stuff. His 80 pace means you can slap a good chemistry style on him and bring him in line with some of the best in the game. I haven’t tested him yet, though. I know sometimes bulkier players don’t really scale well at the high ratings, whereas more agile defenders with boosted defensive numbers tend to fair better in the 90s. Let me know if you have tried him out!Across the rest of the board, then, we have David de Gea with a Premier League Player of the Month card for… I don’t know. What did he do this month? Anyway, he is worth 42k and is 87-rated. The Serie A Player of the month is Giacomo Raspadori with a hilarious 83-rated CAM card for 20k. Great stuff. My man Dani Olmo has an 89-rated TOTY Honourable Mention worth 100k. It looks like fun for me, but nobody will use him. Finally, Orkun Kökçü, the Feynoord CM, has an 86-rated Eredivisie POTM card. He is worth 20k, but you should have all the fodder you need to grab him and pair him with that Hakan Çalhanoglu Seria A POTM card I recommended all that time ago because I harbour a love for him players who can’t run. Objectives and Misc.The Silver Lounge Friendly is ripe for your three matches won, eight goals scored, and six goals assisted which will earn you both Morgan Gibbs-White and the Future Stars Token player Ochojski. There are loads of other players to earn through the new Season 4 that started up this week, so have a little look through the objectives guide because it is extensive (and a terrible selection). The Future Stars token player will be useful for an upcoming event that requires you to pick up the special cards in SBCs, objectives, and rewards for playing matches.
