What do you feed to Dreamlight Valley Baby Dragons? The roster of cute Dreamlight Valley companions is growing thanks to the addition of expansion packs. The first, A Rift in Time, gave us monkeys, cobras, and capybaras. The newest, meanwhile, adds Pegasus critters that look just like baby Hercules’ iconic companion, and Baby Dragons.
Until now, it’s been somewhat easy to figure out what food the Dreamlight Valley critters like to eat with some trial and error in the life sim. It’s not as simple with Baby Dragons, though, as they don’t eat what you and I would consider food – they are magical creatures, after all. No, you’ll have to part with something a little more valuable when it comes to feeding these adorable Dreamlight Valley animals, but it’s worth it when you can make one your companion.
Dreamlight Valley Baby Dragon favorite food
The Dreamlight Valley Baby Dragon’s favorite food is either Pure Ice or Magma, though it will eat any mined gem or mineral. Pure Ice can be mined in the Everafter, while Magma can only be found by mining in Mythopia.
If you’re short on the items above, or you need them for a quest or crafting, you can always feed dragons standard gems like aquamarine or garnet… they must have some pretty sharp teeth. Feed them anything enough times, not just their favorite food, and you can eventually unlock them in your companion inventory.
How to feed a Dreamlight Valley Baby Dragon
You must be patient with Dreamlight Valley’s Baby Dragons to feed them as they are very shy. When you get too close, a Baby Dragon will crouch down and start to shake. When this happens, don’t move, just wait it out. The dragon will eventually lift its head, allowing you to approach.
Then, get up close to the dragon and press the interact button before choosing the food item from your inventory.
Dreamlight Valley Baby Dragon schedule
There are four Dreamlight Valley Baby Dragon variants, with each residing in its own area of Everafter. Here’s each variant, where you can find it, and when:
Baby Dragon Variant | Location | Timetable |
Blue | The Wild Woods | Tuesday – Friday Any time |
Red | Teapot Falls | Saturday – Monday Any time |
Green | The Fallen Fortress | Sunday – Thursday 10am – 6pm |
Purple | The Beanstalk Marshes | Every day 12am – 12pm |
Now you know when, where, and how to feed Baby Dragons in Dreamlight Valley, you can persist in keeping them well-fed until you can make one your loyal companion in the Disney game. Alternatively, you can feed the equally adorable Dreamlight Valley Pegasus critters on the other side of Storybook Vale. While it won’t include any new critters, you should also check out the next Dreamlight Valley update, too, and prepare for some new residents to the valley.
