The Realme 9 Pro and Pro+ are off to a rough start – well, the regular Pro definitely is as it ended up at the bottom of last week’s poll. The Pro+ will do okay in the market, although it will really benefit from a healthy price cut.
Most people looking for a phone in this price range think that there are better alternatives out there – some from Realme itself, especially higher end models that have fallen in price over time.
Realme 9 Pro+ highlights
That is something that the Realme 9 Pro+ will have to do, except faster – €380/₹25,000 is just too much as there are many excellent alternatives in the €300-330 range. For example, the Realme GT Master is listed at €350 on the official site, but five seconds of searching reveals you can have it for under €300 from third-party stores.
The 50 MP 1/1.56” sensor in the main camera and 60W fast charging remain the phone’s best weapons against the competition, but even they didn’t cause fans to line up with wallets in hands.

Still, the Pro+ will become more and more alluring as its price falls. In the mean time, check out our review for our thoughts on the phone.
The Realme 9 Pro will need deep, deep price cuts before it becomes popular, however. €320/₹18,000? No way, say our readers. Again, you can have the GT Master for less than that.
Realme 9 Pro highlights
The Snapdragon 695 chipset was seen as a major disappointment, even though it performed fairly well in our review. It’s not as fast as the Dimensity 920 in the Pro+, but it did beat out Dimensity 700 and 800 chips. Better yet, it didn’t throttle under sustained load. It’s a fine chip, though not for this price tag (the GT Master and Galaxy M52 5G offer a 778G).
