Week 44 in review: Galaxy S22 enters mass production, USB-C iPhone on sale

Another week down, let’s recap. The Galaxy S22 and S22+ have reportedly entered into mass production and we saw detailed renders of the pair, based on early information. They’ll look quite similar to their predecessors, only be smaller in stature, thanks to reduced screens – 6.06-inch and 6.55-inch for the S22 and S22+, respectively. That’s down from the 6.1-inch and 6.7-inch of the S21 and S21+.

The Galaxy S22 Ultra is also in production and we even saw the first live images of the phone this week. It looks a lot like a Galaxy Note20 Ultra, only with a matte black finish. It has an S Pen holster and the rear cameras are cut directly into the frame – no island or protrusion necessary.

Reports suggest the Galaxy S22 trio will be ready for a January release, chip shortage be damned.

Remember that iPhone X with a USB-C port? Yeah, it was listed at an auction on eBay and reached a price of $100,100.00 through 173 bids at the last check. Now, obviously no one will buy it at that price, but it has made the rounds on most tech sites and Twitter over the past couple of days.

Those were the more interesting topics of the past week. See you next one!

The company is prioritizing the US variant of the Galaxy S22 Ultra.

Behold, the first Galaxy S phone with a built-in S Pen.

Traffic-light triple-camera solution on the back, a flat panel on the front.

Tired of those Lightning cables?

This includes all three phones – Redmi Note 11, Redmi Note 11 Pro, Redmi Note 11 Pro+.

Could be similar to the Note10+.

This one seems like a bigger update than usual.

TSMC is facing some production issues.

The charts for October reveal a massive increase in raw performance for SD888+.

The device is available in China with a carrier deal.

The pair costs $1,499 and comes with a free phone, but all the other pockets are gone.

Similar to the iPhone, the fingerprint reader on the new Pixels is tied to the motherboard, so replacing it is tricky business.

The launch event for the phone is set for November 9.

A mock-up sample of the back of the upcoming Galaxy S21 FE appears on video.

Cupertino is allocating resources and components to the phone amidst supply chain issues.

The prime core will be based on the new Cortex-X2 (ARMv9) and will run at 3.0 GHz.

It should bring plenty of visual changes.

DxOMark rated the Pixel 6 Pro’s excellent detail in zoom shots, nice skin tones.

Hopefully, this model manages to escape Chinese exclusivity.

A short teardown video shows all the internals.

The main reason is visual aesthetics.

Initially there was a trial run in one market back in August, now this is going global.

Huawei is yet to confirm these reports officially.
