Dustin Poirier weighs in on Friday ahead of his UFC 264 trilogy bout with Conor McGregor

Dustin Poirier weighed in at 156 pounds on Friday morning, ahead of Saturday’s UFC 264, from the T-Mobile arena in Las Vegas, NV.

In January, Poirier came in at the same weight of 156 pounds for his UFC 257 meeting with Conor McGregor. A fight that saw Poirier pick up the second round T/KO finish over McGregor.

McGregor weighed in at 156 pounds, as well.

With his victory over McGregor earlier this year, Poirier comes into Saturday’s trilogy riding a title wave of momentum. With wins in11 of his last 14 fights at lightweight since moving to 155 pounds in 2014. Poirier moved up a weight class to lightweight after losing his first meeting with McGregor back at UFC 178.

Since then, Poirier has seven stoppage wins and four wins by decision, with his only two losses in the last six years coming against Michael Johnson and Khabib Nurmagomedov.

On Saturday, Poirier comes in as the -140 betting favorite (via WynnBet) against McGregor, with each of their previous two meetings seeing Poirier as the betting underdog.

This time, with McGregor having lost three of his last six UFC appearances, the tide has turned in the balance of Poirier.

McGregor comes in as the betting underdog in just the second fight of his UFC career. Meanwhile, Poirier has performed well against the measure of expectations as the betting favorite. Poirier’s only loss in the lightweight division as a betting favorite was against Michael Johnson in 2015. Since then, Poirier has gone 5-0 as the chalk fighter, with wins over the likes of Dan Hooker, Justin Gaethje, and Anthony Pettis.

On Saturday night, Poirier has the chance to solidify himself as one of the best lightweights in the world. With a win, Poirier will ensure himself a shot at the coveted 155-pound strap in a potential barn-burner match-up with the current UFC lightweight champion, Charles Oliveira.

UFC 264 takes place on July 10, 2021, live from the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, NV. Follow along with FanSided who is cageside for all your live news and highlights.
