Season Six arrives for Call of Duty: Warzone and Black Ops Cold War on October 7th, bringing with it changes to Verdansk, the final chapter to Cold War’s Zombies, and a new Halloween event, The Haunting. Kicking things off with Warzone, the Verdansk 84 map is getting a few new points of interest. According to the latest Call of Duty Blog post, fissures will crack open the Stadium and Downtown areas, revealing “strange and previously unknown WWII-era bunkers.” These new bunkers are an “underground system of passageways and armaments rooms” that were sealed off after World War II’s end. A new Gulag, inspired by the original, is also coming with Season Six for more of that intense 1v1 action. In terms of new modes, weapons, and balance changes, Raven Software will share more on those next week. For Black Ops Cold War, Season Six ushers in the final chapter of Black Ops Cold War Zombies. Forsaken is the new round-based map available at launch, which is set in a secret Omega Group test set in the U.S.S.R.. There’s also a new PHD Slider Perk that triggers an explosion when you slide into enemies, the new Chrysalax Wonder Weapon — a powerful battleaxe that splits zombies in half with ease, and two new Support Weapons: the ARC-XD remote-controlled explosive device and the powerful Hand Cannon pistol. Three new multiplayer maps are also coming to Black Ops Cold War. Deprogram is a 6v6 map with each part of the map being stitched together from Adler’s fragmented memories. Special Red Doors will help you traverse the map quickly. Amerika is a 6v6, medium-sized map that is a Soviet recreation of an American Main Street located in a secret military facility. You’ll fight your way through a replica town that includes a pizzeria, theatre, and a Burger Town mock-up. Finally, there’s Gluboko, a 2v2 and 3v3 map that takes place in an underground vault of the KGB headquarters, promising fast-paced engagements and firefights. Also coming to both Warzone and Black Ops Cold War on October 19th is the Halloween seasonal event, The Haunting. The Call of Duty team say more about the event will be revealed soon, but we imagine it will be similar to last year’s The Haunting of Verdansk event, which plunged Verdansk into darkness, added a Zombie Royale mode, and featured a couple of licensed crossovers. Season Six for Call of Duty: Warzone and Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War begins on October 7th.
