Warhammer 40,000: Darktide has once again been delayed, Fatshark has announced, and while PC players can look forward to playing the game towards the end of the year, players on Xbox will have to wait a little longer.Fatshark made the announcement via a statement on its social media accounts, which states that the team needs a little extra time to work on Warhammer 40,000: Darktide’s systems. The statement says that players on PC will now see the game launch on November 30th, but Xbox Series X|S consoles will have to wait until a currently unspecified launch date shortly after PC.Warhammer 40,000: Darktide delay statementIt’s been a bit of a bumpy ride for Warhammer 40,000: Darktide, which was originally set to launch back in 2021, but after the pandemic created havoc across the industry it was understandably delayed until spring 2022. Spring came and went without the game launching, and we then were given a September release date during June’s Warhammer Skulls Showcase alongside a fresh cinematic trailer. Unfortunately, it looks like Fatshark needs some extra time to polish a few of the game’s systems, as it’s once again been delayed. Those of you that play on PC can look forward to jumping into the co-op first-person shooter on November 30th, but Xbox Series X|S players could potentially need to wait until sometime in 2023, as the console version will launch “shortly after PC.” With only 31 days between the PC launch and the new year, it wouldn’t be a surprise if we see its release sometime in January or February. “Delaying a game is perhaps one of the most difficult decisions a developer faces and one we are not excited about making,” Fatshark’s CEO and co-founder Martin Wahlund said. “Still, we hope this speaks to our commitment to taking the time necessary and doing whatever it takes to get you the best possible game.” How do you feel about the delay? Are you pleased that Fatshark is putting in the effort to ensure the game is in the best state it can be when it launches? Let us know down below!
