What are the best frames to pick as you step into the new year? Take a look at our in-depth Warframe tier list

Warframe is a massive MMORPG with a vast world to explore. With an addictive looter shooter gameplay loop and an amazing main storyline to follow, you get to move around from one planet to another and trade with friends and clan members, all while hunting for resources, weapons, and rare blueprints.

As of 2024, there are 55 playable Warframes or Frames in the game that you can control. Some of them even have a Prime variant, which bumps up the total number of Frames to nearly a hundred.

Since each of these Frames is unique in its own way and cannot be acquired without putting in hours of grinding, it’s natural to wonder:

Which Frame do I want first?

Well, with our complete tier list of the best Warframe Frames of 2024, you’ll be able to decide that for yourself. So, let’s hop in!

Warframe Best Frames – Tier List

Warframe Tier List - Best Frames in 2024

Warframe Tier list can be pretty subjective since you’ll find some use for most Frames if you build them right and use them in the right situations. However, that doesn’t change the fact that some Frames are plain better than the rest, offering more utility and versatility to the squad.

Here’s our tier list for the best Frames in Warframes for 2024:

S-Tier

Warframe Tier List - Best Frames in 2024

Solid choice in the meta, S-tier Frames in the game have fantastic skill sets and can adapt to any situations that the game throws your way. If you feel like expanding your arsenal with new Frames, these are the ones that you want to collect first.

The Frames in this list are in their peak performance right now. You can run multiple different builds on them, use a variety of weapons, or simply rely on the Frames skills to handle the different missions and runs available in the game.

With that said, these are the Frames that deserve this spot:

  • Protea – Protea is easily one of the best Warframe frames in the meta because of her amazing utility. Shield Satellites instantly restore shields to your entire squad, while Blaze Artillery can clear massive hordes in a blink.
  • Saryn – Saryn is probably the only Warframe that’s been in the S-tier ever since it came out. If you want a frame that has a massive area DPS skill, Saryn is your pick.
  • Wisp – There’s a reason why Wisp is the most popular Support Frame in the game: its amazing fire-rate buffs and tackiness. It’s easily the strongest support Frame in the game.
  • Revenant – When it comes to Tank Frames, Revenant is the undisputed king. It’s strong enough to clear end-game content solo.
  • Mesa – With the right build, Mesa can be a true S-tier Frame thanks to her ability to strip armor off the enemies.

A-Tier

Warframe Tier List - Best Frames in 2024

A-Tier Frames are the next best thing if you don’t have an S-tier Frame in your arsenal. They have good damage, decent horde clearance and can offer a lot to any team setup. With just a few buffs, they might even make it to the S-tier.

Here’s our pick for the Frames that are deserving of the A-tier ranking

  • Ash
  • Baruuk
  • Citrine
  • Garuda
  • Gara
  • Gauss
  • Kullervo
  • Mag
  • Nova
  • Octavia
  • Rhino
  • Volt
  • Voruna
  • Wukong
  • Xaku
  • Zephyr

B-Tier

Warframe Tier List - Best Frames in 2024

Warframe is a pretty balanced game, with most of the Frames available offering something unique to the player. Sure, some Frames stand out from the pack because of how their skills and stats complement their play style. But most Frames available in the game require you to put in some work to get the most out of them.

The Frames listed in our B-tier have above-average usefulness only if you take the time to use proper mods, weapons, and catalysts to build them. Using augment mods, arcane, or Helminth abilities can also elevate them to the level of A-tier Frames when done right.

With that said, here are our picks for the B-tier Warframes available in the game.

  • Atlas
  • Banshee
  • Chroma
  • Dagath
  • Equinox
  • Excalibur
  • Grendel
  • Gyre
  • Harrow
  • Hildryn
  • Ivara
  • Lavos
  • Mirage
  • Nezha
  • Nyx
  • Qorvex
  • Styanax
  • Sevegoth
  • Titania
  • Trinity
  • Valkyr
  • Vauban

C-Tier

Warframe Tier List - Best Frames in 2024

While the Frames listed above offer something in any squad, Frames placed in the C-tier are in a pretty bad place in the game, at least in the current meta. Their lackluster skillset often leads to minimal impact in the game.

Sure, you could pick them, but without a proper squad to carry you through difficult events, you’re just asking for a hard time.

These are the C-tier Frames in Warframe in our opinion:

  • Caliban
  • Ember
  • Frost
  • Limbo
  • Loki
  • Nidus
  • Oberon
  • Yareli

D-Tier

Warframe Tier List - Best Frames in 2024

D-tier Frames in the game are ones that require a major rework to make them useful in the game. For Warframe veterans, the only two Frames that deserve this tier are Hydroid and Inaros.

However, since the  Abyss of Dagath update, Hydroid got a much-needed rework that made him a solid choice for grinding runs. Now, the D-tier is reserved only for Inaros, who is in dire need of a rework.

Inaros can still be a pretty decent tank for his sheer health pool, but frankly, whatever he does, other Frames can do better.

Farming Frames:

Warframe, if nothing else, is a game of loot at its core. Grinding is a core mechanic and Frames that can make your farm more efficient are certainly worth using in the game.

When you’re hunting for rare drops and resources, using a Frame that expedites the process is a smart idea. As it turns out, there are a few frames that are cut a bit above the rest when it comes to speeding up your in-game grind.

Our top three frames for the farm game are: Nekros, Khora, and Hydroid, along with their prime variants.

All three of these frames can increase the drop chance from enemies. With the high DPS that Khora offers, you can camp in a tight corner while hordes of enemies run towards you and you can farm up to your heart’s content.

Nekros and Hydroid, however, let you be a bit more flexible since they are much more mobile and can strip the enemy’s armor to make them easier to take down. Regardless, the massive horde-clearing ability of these three frames makes them great when you’re farming up loot.

Let the Grind Begin

The Frames in Warframe are each designed to offer something to the player. Whether it’s a new way to play or a more efficient way to farm, most Frames are pretty viable for the year 2024. Well, except Inaros, we’re not going to justify the state he is in.

Picking the Frames in the S-tier will give you the best experience in most situations, but the Frames in the A and B-tier aren’t too bad either. With the C-tier Frames, however, you’ll want a decent squad to help you out clearing objectives.

We hope our tier list of the Best Warframes can help you figure out which Frame you want to unlock next. So get ready, Tenno; the grind is about to start!
