2025 is underway, and we hope you’re enjoying our January TA Playlist Game of the Month, Metro: Last Light, but now it’s time to take a brief detour from the metro tunnels and vote for the next month’s featured game.Everybody loves a good sequel, and since February is the second month of the year, we’ve decided to do a second run for our February theme from 2023, “Two for Two” – co-op games best enjoyed with a partner, each having “two” or “2” in the title. Gears of War 2 won that poll, leaving three good games behind, so we’ve brought all of those back for the sequel, along with a new entrant to round out the quartet. So, without further ado, cast your vote for “Two for Two 2!”Overcooked! 2Up first is the food-themed party game Overcooked! 2. Developed by Ghost Town Games and Team 17 Software, this 2018 sequel took all the fun food prep of the original Overcooked!, mixed in some spicy new gameplay, and seasoned it with a healthy dash of multiplayer mayhem to deliver a delicious dish for two.Journey back to the Onion Kingdom and assemble your team of chefs in classic couch co-op or online play for up to four players. Hold on to your aprons… it’s time to save the world (again!)Overcooked! 2 currently holds a respectable 4.11 rating out of 5.00 here on TA. Nearly 280,000 tracked TA users have started the game, with fewer than 4,000 gamers (around 1%) having earned the completion. With its 26 achievements, the base game is available on Xbox Game Pass and Xbox Cloud Gaming and is estimated to take around ten hours to complete. The full completion, with a total of 54 achievements, is estimated to take 20-26 hours.Unravel TwoThe next nominee is Unravel Two, a puzzle platformer developed by Coldwood Interactive and published by Electronic Arts in 2018. The sequel to 2016’s Unravel enhances the experience by adding a co-op element. Unravel Two is currently available on Xbox Game Pass through EA Play. When you cut ties to the past, new bonds form. In Unravel Two, create a Yarny of your very own, then build relationships with other Yarnys in local co-op or as a single player, fostering friendship and support as you journey together.Unravel Two currently sits at a 3.81 out of 5.00 rating on TA, having been started by over 148,000 tracked gamers. Fewer than 400 gamers have unlocked all 28 of the game’s achievements, thanks to some tricky speedrunning achievements, but the completion is estimated to take 25-30 hours if you can overcome the challenge. Luckily we have a Walkthrough for the game from vSully to help keep you from getting too tangled up.It Takes TwoThe third February nominee (and the only one that’s not a sequel) is It Takes Two, developed by Hazelight Studios and published by Electronic Arts in 2021. This game is also available on Xbox Game Pass through EA Play, and there’s also a “Friend’s Pass” available if you need an extra copy for a partner who isn’t a Game Pass subscriber (although no achievements can be earned by the person playing on the Friend’s Pass).Billed as a “genre-bending platform adventure,” you and a friend play as Cody and May, two humans turned into dolls by a magic spell and trapped in a fantastical world. The couple must mend their fractured relationship and learn to help and trust each other to escape from this heartfelt and hilarious story. It Takes Two has a very strong rating of 4.61 out of 5.00 stars, according to the TA community, and it also has the highest completion rate of this month’s nominees; over 24,600 of the 218,000+ tracked gamers who’ve played this game (around 11%) have gone on to unlock all 20 of the game’s achievements, which is estimated to take around 12-15 hours.Portal 2Any good sequel will introduce new characters to join the returning cast, and our newcomer to this group is none other than Portal 2, the follow-up to Valve’s seminal puzzle-platformer. Published by Electronic Arts and released back in 2011, Portal 2 is not currently on a subscription service, but it was offered as the final Xbox 360 game to be included in Games With Gold, so it may already be in your digital library.Welcome back to the Aperture Science Testing Facility, where silent protagonist Chell must once again use her wits, reflexes, and portal gun to overcome a series of test chambers and make her way out of the facility. GLaDOS returns for the sequel (Still Alive, after all), along with new robotic companion Wheatley and the voice of Aperture Science founder and CEO Cave Johnson (J.K. Simmons), as you uncover the history of the test facility and make your escape. Portal 2 also features a well-made co-op mode, where you and a partner can work through an entirely different set of Test Chambers with increasingly complex and convoluted solutions… for Science! With a stunning TA community rating of 4.62/5.00, Portal 2 stands as the highest-rated title in this month’s list. Over 272,000 tracked gamers have started Portal 2, with just over 15,000 (6%) completing all 50 achievements. The TA community estimates a full completion should take 15-20 hours, though the on-site walkthrough by N18p73pwn3r, along with a good co-op partner, might help you navigate the test chambers more quickly. So, which of these Two for Two games should we play in February 2025?
