Earlier this week, VALORANT announced several in-game VCT Game Changers Championship 2024 rewards for fans who watch the event.
Commencing today (November 8th) until November 17th, viewers can earn a Game Changers 2024 player card as well as various player titles.
Game Changers is a VALORANT circuit for women and other marginalised genders that was introduced by the game’s publisher, Riot Games, three years ago. Its format consists of regional leagues around the globe that offer qualification to the international championship.
According to esports data platform Esports Charts, last year’s championship reported just under 300,000 peak viewers, beating its 2022 record as the most-watched women’s VALORANT tournament ever.
The third iteration is taking place at the Riot Games Arena in Berlin, featuring ten top-tier international teams and a $500,000 (~£386,000) prize pool.
A press release revealed that fans will be rewarded with the ‘MAIN CHARACTER’ in-game title for tuning into the official broadcast or official watch parties during the tournament’s runtime. On the same channels, they may earn the Game Changers 2024 player card by watching the Grand Final on November 17th.
In addition, VALORANT announced exclusive titles which can be earned by watching the following on-site watch parties during the Grand Finals weekend (November 15th-17th):
- ’13-0 Club’ for Mixwell
- ‘I am Her’ for Helydia
- ‘Ribbit’ for Kyedae
- ‘Queen’ for Sliggy
The championship also marks the conclusion of the 2024 VCT Game Changers season. In June, Riot announced numerous changes to the Game Changers ecosystem for this year, including rules adjustments focused on ‘upward player mobility’ as well as an expansion to the championship from eight to ten teams.
In contrast, the EMEA Game Changers division received a reduction in number of teams for the 2024 season in an effort to make the league more competitive.
