Bellator 268: Vadim Nemkov vs. Julius Anglickas fight card, start time, channel guide.
The Bellator Light Heavyweight Grand Prix moves on with two gigantic semifinals matchups at Bellator 268. Vadim Nemkov will defend his title against short-notice replacement Julius Anglickas, while heavyweight titleholder Ryan Bader faces former UFC standout Corey Anderson.
Nemkov has won eight straight bouts, which included knocking out Bader at Bellator 244 to earn the light heavyweight belt. He most recently defeated Phil Davis to start his Grand Prix defense by unanimous decision.
Nemkov will face Anglickas, the fifth-ranked Bellator light heavyweight contender who is filling in for Anthony Johnson. After a successful Bellator debut, Johnson withdrew from the Grand Prix with an undisclosed stomach illness. Anglickas is also coming into the fight red-hot, having won nine fights in a row.
UFC fans may recognize Anglickas’ name, as he is a former Dana White’s Contender Series standout who fell just short of a UFC contract. He went on to sign with Bellator and has found relative success on one of MMA’s biggest platforms.
Bader is seeking a rematch with Nemkov but will need to get past a tough challenge in Anderson. Following an up-and-down UFC tenure, Anderson has looked lights-out in Bellator with back-to-back knockouts over Dovletdzhan Yagshimuradov and Melvin Manhoef.
Following his Grand Prix run, the heavyweight champion Bader will more than likely look to defend his title against interim heavyweight titleholder Valentin Moldovsky. The future of the Bellator heavyweight title picture has remained unclear during the prolonged Light Heavyweight Grand Prix.
Bellator 268 also features the return of former UFC lightweight champion Benson Henderson against Brent Primus.
