Partnership Focuses on Safe and Efficient UTM Integration for BVLOS Operations
Matternet, known for its urban drone delivery services, has entered a strategic partnership with ANRA Technologies to enhance airspace management for its drone networks. This partnership aims to support Matternet’s recent expansion of home delivery services and enable safe Beyond Visual Line of Sight (BVLOS) operations in increasingly shared airspace environments.
Expanding Drone Delivery in Urban Areas
Following the launch of Silicon Valley’s first drone delivery service, Matternet’s collaboration with ANRA will integrate advanced Unmanned Aircraft Systems (UAS) Traffic Management (UTM) solutions. This integration will allow Matternet to scale its operations for fast, zero-emission deliveries in urban and suburban neighborhoods across the U.S. and internationally. Matternet’s pilot operations in Mountain View and Sunnyvale, California, showcase the company’s commitment to transforming last-mile delivery with an emphasis on safety and environmental sustainability.

Andreas Raptopoulos, Founder and CEO of Matternet, stated, “With our home delivery service now live in Silicon Valley, our focus is on expanding our operations to serve more communities. Working with ANRA Technologies provides us with additional UTM capabilities that will help us scale our delivery networks while maintaining the highest safety standards for Beyond Visual Line of Sight operations in shared airspace. This supports our vision of deploying Matternet’s technology across every major urban and suburban area in the United States and Europe.”
Enabling Safe and Efficient Airspace Management
The collaboration will enhance Matternet’s ability to manage its drone networks in busy airspace. By using ANRA’s UTM system, Matternet aims to strategically avoid airspace conflicts with other aircraft. This integration helps Matternet’s drones safely navigate complex environments, supporting compliance with regulatory standards while reducing the risk of collision. The system will also promote interoperability with other airspace users, including public safety agencies, to ensure efficient and secure operations.

Amit Ganjoo, CEO of ANRA Technologies, emphasized, “We are excited to partner with Matternet to advance urban drone delivery. By integrating our airspace management solutions, we aim to facilitate safe and efficient airspace operations, allowing Matternet to expand their services while enabling interoperability with other users such as public safety agencies who want to fly in the same airspace.”
A Step Toward Sustainable Urban Logistics
This partnership aligns with Matternet’s broader goal of building a connected, zero-emission logistics network. Matternet’s drone technology aims to reduce road traffic and improve air quality by shifting some deliveries from the streets to the skies. As Matternet grows its operations with support from ANRA’s UTM solutions, the company is positioning its drone delivery services as a scalable and environmentally friendly alternative to traditional transportation.
