Akupara Games and Tmesis Studio have dropped their latest adventure game Universe for Sale. Akupara Games has dropped intriguing and interesting titles earlier this year, like The Darkside Detective series and Zoeti.

Is the Universe Really for Sale?

The game is set in a space station on Jupiter, the planet. It’s a bizarre bazaar on the air which is thick with acid rain and mystery. It’s a place where orangutans with more wit than some humans work the docks and cultists trade flesh for enlightenment.

Now, the universe which is up for sale is due to Lila. She’s a woman who can casually create universes from her palm. Yeah, just like that!

When the game starts, you find yourself landing in the shantytown of a mining colony. You are a skeletal figure called the Master, a cultist from the Cult of Detachment. It’s creepy and fascinating at the same time.

You wander the ramshackle colony, full of rickety tea and other oddity shops, until you stumble into Honin’s Tea House, Lila’s shop. She has a mystery about her that slowly unravels as you switch between her perspective and the Master’s throughout the game.

Playing as Lila lets you make universes, a mini-game where you mix and match ingredients to create mesmerizing visual worlds. Meanwhile, the Master’s journey has you diving into the philosophies of the Cult of Detachment and encountering the Church of Many Gods.

The story builds up as you progress, theorizing about what’s really going on. Every character, whether human, skeletal or robotic, has a story to tell, and the world is rich with details for you to explore every corner.
