Ubisoft is adding offline modes to both The Crew 2 and The Crew Motorfest but isn’t bringing back the original game following its shutdown in March. The publisher said on X/Twitter that it heard fans’ concerns about the two currently active The Crew games eventually being pulled too, and would add the offline modes as a result. The Crew first launched in December 2014 but, almost a decade later, was pulled from storefronts and taken offline, meaning even those who paid full price for the open world racer could no longer play it.Fans responded with frustration and anger at the decision, but also worry what the policy meant for the two games still available. The Crew Motorfest – First Screenshots”We heard your concerns about access to The Crew games,” Ubisoft said. “Today, we want to express our commitment to the future of The Crew 2 and The Crew Motorfest. We can confirm an offline mode to ensure long term access to both titles, stay tuned for more news in the next months.”The Crew 2 being shut down seemed a much more likely prospect beforehand, as it launched in 2018 and is therefore six years old. The Crew Motorfest arriving in 2023 also adds to its obscurity. In our 7/10 review of that game, IGN said: “The Crew Motorfest is a robust racer with a confident sense of style, but its smaller map lacks life, its multiplayer isn’t really worth the wait, and its omnipresent microtransaction opportunities are still tedious.”Ryan Dinsdale is an IGN freelance reporter. He’ll talk about The Witcher all day.
