It’s been almost 13 years since the Driver: San Francisco achievements sped onto Xbox, and since then, fans of the series haven’t had much to sink their teeth into. Now, Ubisoft has teased that it’s working on “exciting projects” in the Driver franchise. Ubisoft teases new Driver projectsIn 2021, Ubisoft announced it had partnered with streaming service Binge to work on a live-action Driver series. However, as confirmed to Game File, Ubisoft has now canceled the upcoming show following the closure of one of its movie/video-related subsidiaries, Hotrod Tanner LLC, earlier this year. “We are no longer moving forward with our partnership with Binge for a Driver series,” a Ubisoft spokesperson told the publication. While it’s a bit of a shame we won’t see whatever Ubisoft and Binge had planned for this live-action Driver series, the publisher has revealed it hasn’t given up on the franchise. “We are actively working on other exciting projects related to the franchise and can’t wait to share more information in the future,” a Ubisoft spokesperson said. It’s unknown what exactly these “exciting projects” are, but hopefully, we’ll see a new game in the Driver franchise come speeding around the corner soon. In other weird Ubisoft news, filming has finally begun on Ubisoft’s Watch Dogs movie, which was announced over ten years ago.
