If you enjoyed cutting down Deadites and running for your life as Ash and his friends for the Evil Dead: The Game achievements and have been hoping for more from the developer, we have some great news: Boss Team Games is working on two new Halloween games. Not much is known about the upcoming Xbox horror games right now, but director John Carpenter is involved with one of the projects.Michael Myers is getting to Halloween video game adaptionsPromotional image courtesy of IGNAs revealed by IGN, Boss Team Games is developing two games based on the original 1978 Halloween movie, one of which has original director John Carpenter involved and is being developed in Unreal Engine 5. It’s currently in early development, so we’ll likely not see it for quite some time.”As a huge gamer myself, I’m thrilled to help bring Michael Myers to life again in this game, and my hope is to scare you silly,” Carpenter said.We have yet to learn about the other game in development, but IGN reports that the press release says we’ll be able to “relive moments from the film and play as classic characters from one of the most iconic and important horror films of all time.” Compass International Pictures and Further Front are also involved with the projects.“Everyone at Boss Team Games are huge fans of horror and Halloween obviously holds a special place in the hearts of all horror fans,” Boss Team Games CEO Steve Harris said. “Getting to work with iconic characters like Michael Myers and build on John Carpenter’s original vision is literally a dream come true. Everyone at Boss Team is thrilled and honored to be working with Malek Akkad and John Carpenter to deliver a one-of-a-kind experience that fans of the movie and video games will love.”Boss Team Games has already proven that it can make fantastic asymmetrical horror games, and while Halloween would make for another great addition to that genre, I would love to see the project Carpenter is involved with turn out to be a single-player survival horror game. A narrative adventure with knife-wielding Michael Myers trying to give you a front-seat viewing of your own intestines would be a real treat and a much-appreciated break from the asymmetrical multiplayer genre. We’ve likely got a bit of a wait ahead of us before these games release, and before then, we have A Quiet Place: The Road Ahead to look forward to, which looks to offer us some terrifying single-player survival horror fun.
