Anticipated 2021 No. 1 overall draft pick Trevor Lawrence shows off his skills in his first NFL touchdown as a Jacksonville Jaguar.

The sun is starting to shine on 2020’s worst NFL franchise as Trevor Lawrence positions the Jacksonville Jaguars for a win in Week 1 and beyond.

Facing AFC South rival the Houston Texans, Lawrence led the Jaguars for their first touchdown of the season with a drive reminiscent of his Clemson days.

Despite a slow three-and-out start with his first possession, Lawrence bounced back for a lethal drive, utilizing tight end Chris Manhertz to bring the Jaguars to within seven points of the Houston Texans.

The most coveted quarterback in the 2021 Draft, Lawrence made a name for himself when he went undefeated during his freshman season at Clemson, culminating in a 2019 National Championship victory. Setting the Clemson record for career quarterback wins, Lawrence only lost the 2020 National Championship to an undefeated LSU team and the 2021 Sugar Bowl to Ohio State.

Seeing as Lawrence has won every single regular season game, it’s a school record that will be virtually impossible to beat.

Although a rookie quarterback, Lawrence’s historic win record positions him as someone who can lead the Jaguars out from the bottom of NFL rankings and back into the playoffs, which they’ve missed since making the AFC Championship in 2017.

Fellow teammates are even inspired by Lawrence’s presence, with Jaguars defensive end Jihad Ward referring to Lawrence as “White Jesus” during their plane ride to Houston.

If anyone can turn this franchise around, it’s Trevor Lawrence — the regular season quarterback hero is expected to uplift Duval County after a brutal 1-15 season in 2020.
