Today marks the start of the 1win Series Dota 2 Fall playoffs as Team Liquid, Gaimin Gladiators, PARIVISION and Team Spirit vie for the competition’s $100,000 (~£79,000) prize pool.
With coverage supported by 1win Esports, the esports arm of bookmaker 1win, Esports Insider delves into the upcoming matches, which are taking place right now on YouTube and Twitch.
Similar to the previous two 1win Series Dota 2 formats, this stage features two single elimination best-of-three (BO3) matches followed by a best-of-five (BO5) third-place and finals match. The $100,000 prize pool is split between the four teams with first gaining $50,000, second walking away with $30,000, while third and forth claim $15,000 and $5000, respectively.
Kicking off the playoff stage is Team Liquid vs PARIVISION, a match-up that actually saw the latter team pick up a victory the last time they faced. Aside from its 2-1 loss to PARIVISION at this month’s DreamLeague Season 24, Team Liquid has been one of Dota 2’s best teams in 2024. This is highlighted by winning The International 2024 and finishing runner-up at Riyadh Masters 2024.
Team Liquid calmly qualified for the 1win Series Dota 2 Fall following victories over Nigma Galaxy and Gaimin Gladiators. PARIVISION, on the other hand, had to come back from an early loss to Team Spirit to qualify, beating the likes of OG and 1win Team along the way. Still, while momentum might be in Team Liquid’s favour, PARIVISION has already proven that it can beat The International’s victor this month.
The second match up sees Riyadh Masters 2024 champion Gaimin Gladiators face off against 1win Series Dota 2 Summer champions Team Spirit, with both organisations looking to prove a point.
Team Spirit will be looking to become a two-time 1win Series Dota 2 champion whereas Gaimin Gladiators will be undoubtedly eyeing another rematch with Team Liquid, if both teams can dispatch of their opponents.
The last two matches between Gaimin Gladiators and Team Spirit have ended 1-1 (BetBoom Dacha Belgrade 2024 and Riyadh Masters 2024), however, this time a definitive winner will be crowned.
1win Series Dota 2 Fall Playoff action is live as of 1pm GMT! The action can be followed on 1win’s official event Twitch channel or YouTube livestream.
Following today’s two playoff matches all four teams will be in action again on November 22nd to crown the 1win Series Dota 2 Fall champion and third-place team.
