A Finnish retailer has leaked pricing for Gigabyte Nvidia GeForce RTX 5080 graphics cards, showing off several higher-spec variations, including a massive water-cooled version that’s set to cost hundreds of dollars more than the 5080’s $999 MSRP.
It’s no surprise to see this Gigabyte card being so expensive – performance-wise, the RTX 5080 is set to join the RTX 5090 as one of the best graphics card models you can buy for gaming, and Gigabyte will have also added all the water-cooling gear. We’re looking at a lot of money for an RTX 5080 here, though.
Finnish retailer Proshop listed these third-party RTX 5080 cards from Gigabyte on its website. The cheapest, a Gigabyte GeForce RTX 5080 WindForce 3 OC, was listed for €1,229, or $1,225, which matches the Finnish MSRP for this card.
However, at the other end is the most expensive Aorus Xtreme WaterForce card, costing €1,669, or $1,704 US. We got a good hands-on look ourselves at the RTX 5090 version of the Aorus Xtreme WaterForce at CES last week, and it’s enormous, with its own AIO water cooling system with a 360mm radiator and three 120mm fans to keep the temperatures down.
On the face of it, most of the pricing is pretty good news, if it’s confirmed to be true. The most basic Gigabyte RTX 5080 card is being being offered at Nvidia’s MSRP for the region, while more advanced cards with custom specs and added components are being offered at a reasonable premium, capping out at between 15% and 35% more expensive.
If other manufacturers follow this approach, then the RTX 5000 series will be in line with Nvidia’s MSRP. However, we’d still expect pricing to fluctuate wildly based on high demand, especially if the RTX 5080 proves to be a particularly popular card on launch and Founders Editions sell out. If that’s the case, expect to pay a premium for your RTX 5000-series card until the demand drops down, regardless of the spec.
This pricing isn’t confirmed, and could well be placeholder data, but with a release date set for January 30, we only have a few weeks left to find out.
