This $99 Asus 165Hz gaming monitor deal is genuinely outstanding, but be quick

We’ve uncovered a genuinely incredible gaming monitor deal on Amazon right now, enabling you to pick up a great screen for just $99, saving you 38% on the usual price. Not only does this offer enable you to get a new monitor with a 165Hz refresh rate for under 100 bucks, but it even supports Asus’ Extreme Low Motion Blur (ELMB) tech, which we’ve found makes for really clear action in games.

This price of $99 is the lowest we’ve ever seen for this Asus monitor, and represents incredible value for money. We put ELMB to the test in our Asus TUF Gaming VG27AQ review, and were really impressed by its effectiveness – this tech cleverly strobes the backlight on and off instantly between frames to reduce motion blur and ghosting, and the result is fantastic. The monitor on offer in this deal is the smaller Asus TUF Gaming VG247Q1A, but it supports the same tech, making it the best gaming monitor you can buy right now for under $100.

Not only that, but unlike some ELMB monitors, the VG247Q1A also allows you to enable active sync at the same time as ELMB, meaning you can not only reduce motion blur, but also synchronize your GPU’s frame rate with the monitor’s refresh rate at the same time, eliminating tearing artifacts. Asus says the adaptive sync tech works with both AMD and Nvidia GPUs as well, even though it doesn’t list official Nvidia G-Sync compatibility.

This monitor uses a VA panel, rather than an IPS one, and in our tests this tech has high contrast and deep blacks compared to IPS panels, which is great for movies and cinematic single-player games. On the downside, we’ve found it’s not as responsive as IPS when it comes to fast action. Meanwhile, that 165Hz refresh rate is a great inclusion in a $99 monitor, enabling the monitor to keep up with the action when your game is running at high frame rates.

You even get a pair of 2W speakers included in this display, as well as a pair of HDMI 1.4 inputs, in addition to a DisplayPort 1.2 connector, so you can also hook it up to a console at the same time as your PC.

If you want to take advantage of this offer, just click on this link here to take you to Amazon – you’ll need to be quick, though, as it’s listed as a limited time deal. You can also check out our IPS vs VA guide for more information on how the tech in gaming monitors works.
