The Nvidia GeForce RTX 5070 price just dropped, if you live in the right place

While it’s still hard to track down regular stock of the Nvidia GeForce RTX 5070 at MSRP in the US, PC gamers in the UK appear to have access to a decent stack of them. Not only that, but some of the cards are now going for below Nvidia’s original £539 MSRP, with prices now as low as £518.99 for an RTX 5070 graphics card.

While Nvidia has comfortably had the top-end of the GPU market to itself in this generation, with the RTX 5090 being unquestionably the best graphics card right now if you can afford its huge cost (and if you can find 5090 stock anywhere), the RTX 5070 has faced a much tougher competitive battle. The mid-range GPU was immediately faced with competition from the new AMD Radeon RX 9070 series, while the tariff trade war between China and the US has further complicated the market in the US, as has a lack of stock.

If you’re lucky enough to live in the UK, though, go and fill your boots, as there is loads of RTX 5070 stock available to buy right now. The cheapest card on sale at the moment is the Gainward RTX 5070 Python III, which currently costs £518.99 inc VAT at Overclockers, but there are also several other 5070 cards going for £529.99 and £539.99. The story is similar at UK retailer Scan, where you can currently buy MSI and Palit RTX 5070 cards for £539.99.

Even the official price of the Founders Edition on the Nvidia website has come down from £539 to £529, as spotted by KitGuru, a UK-based PC tech site. There are several factors at play here, from the recent tariff battle to competition from AMD, but one main factor is that the UK doesn’t seem to have suffered the same disparity between supply and demand when it comes to stock of the RTX 5070, although it’s still near-impossible to find an RTX 5090 for sale in the UK.

Meanwhile, AMD Radeon RX 9070 cards now start at £578.99, which is now £60 more than the RTX 5070. That’s still competitive for the performance on offer, especially as the AMD GPU comes with 16GB of VRAM, but the difference is now less clear-cut – at £518.99, the RTX 5070 has a good price right now if you live in the UK.
