The Nvidia GeForce RTX 5060 Ti price just leaked, and it doesn’t look good

According to the latest word on the GPU grapevine, the Nvidia GeForce RTX 5060 Ti will be priced with the same strategy as its predecessor, the RTX 4060 Ti. If that’s true, it could mean the RTX 5060 Ti price is $399 for a card with just 8GB of VRAM, which is a lot to ask in 2025.

Nvidia is reportedly set to release the RTX 5060 Ti in April 2025, and a new leak has potentially revealed the price of both the 8GB and 16GB models. However, the RTX 4060 Ti came under fire for its $399 price tag when it first came out, particularly as the standard version only came with 8GB of VRAM, while the 16GB card cost a whole $100 more. Neither GPU ended up being listed on our best graphics card buying guide.

This latest leak comes via a Board Channels post, where the April 16, 2025 release date is once again mentioned, but more importantly, it’s stated that the RTX 5060 Ti price “is estimated to be similar to the RTX4060TI, that is, the same pricing strategy.” That could mean a price of $399 for the 8GB card and $499 for the 16GB card.

If that’s true, it’s going to be a disappointment for gamers looking for a budget gaming GPU that performs well, especially as the latest RTX 5060 Ti specs leak suggests this new GPU will have 4,608 CUDA cores, just 256 more than the RTX 4060 Ti. On the plus side, the new cards are at least expected to use GDDR7 VRAM, which will be faster than the memory on the RTX 4060 Ti.

As an RTX 5000 series card, the RTX 5060 Ti will also have access to Nvidia DLSS 4 and its new multi frame gen technology, which we heralded as “transformative for path tracing” in our RTX 5090 review. With 16GB of VRAM at its disposal, the top RTX 5060 Ti may even end up being quicker than the RTX 5070 in games such as Indiana Jones and the Great Circle. In our RTX 5070 review, we found this 12GB card couldn’t run this game with the full RT settings, even at 1080p, as it didn’t have enough VRAM. Even so, a $50 difference between this GPU and the 5070 would be tiny.

The bigger problem, however, is that rumored $399 price for the 8GB card. We’ve found that 8GB isn’t enough to run several of our latest benchmarks, and while this amount is acceptable in a budget gaming GPU where you don’t expect to max out the settings, it’s nowhere near enough for a card that costs $399.

As always with leaks, however, bear in mind that none of the above has been officially confirmed by Nvidia. Hopefully, if and when the RTX 5060 Ti is released, the prices will be more reasonable than those of the 4060 Ti.
