Indie horror developer DarkStone Digital, together with horror publisher DreadXP, have released The Mortuary Assistant: Definitive Edition for the PC, Nintendo Switch, and PlayStation.
Set in River Fields Mortuary, players will follow the story of newly graduated apprentice Rebecca Owens. She has no idea of the dark secrets hidden within and beneath her new workplace, quickly coming to learn that there are demonic forces at work.
The Mortuary Assistant: Definitive Edition will have players examining and preparing bodies with realistic techniques like cleaning, embalming, and jaw-wiring, and more.
Other bodies will also need more of an esoteric approach to dispel their demons.

Brian had to say the following:
“The Mortuary Assistant Definitive Edition launches today with more haunt events, new bodies to embalm, embalming only mode, bug fixes, performance improvements, and more.
It has been two long years to the day since I first launched The Mortuary Assistant and it has been one of the most unbelievable experiences of my life.
I have every single one of you to thank for that. The Definitive Edition is less about adding gobs of new content (though there is new content) and more about making sure my most loved project is in a state that I can be proud of as I turn my focus on to my next project, Paranormal Activity.
I have plenty of plans to return to River Fields, don’t you worry, but it’s time to give this version a proper sendoff on to console with one more update for everyone!
I hope you enjoy the Definitive Edition!”
Note that The Mortuary Assistant: Definitive Edition will come out for the Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S as early as next week.
