Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown was met with high praise from critics and players when it launched on Xbox Series X|S and Xbox One in January, and now Ubisoft has said more content is on the way, starting with the game’s free update soon.In a video shared by Ubisoft Montpellier on X, Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown game director Mounir Radi has revealed that the team is “far from being done” with the game and is cooking up additional content for the fantastic Metroidvania. “We’ve got some cool plans for the coming months,” Radi says. “These plans include free updates, adding more content and mode, modes for you to challenge, explore, and enjoy. Our first free update is coming soon.” Radi hasn’t revealed what exactly will be included in the free update but recommends you “train with Artaban and maybe try to beat the game in Immortal mode,” so we could be in for quite a challenge when it arrives. If you’ve not had a chance to play yet, Immortal mode is The Lost Crown’s hardest difficulty setting, ramping up enemy health and damage and decreasing parry windows — oh, and it rewards you with permadeath for any mistake you make!In a sea of huge open-world games from Ubisoft like Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora and the recently released Skull and Bones, it was a breath of fresh air to explore a Mentroidvania-style world in our Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown review. In fact, it was so nice that I’m hoping its incredible success tempts Ubisoft to test the waters of other unique games. I’d love to see the publisher roll out a new Rayman, or attempt to take a series in a new direction with a spin-off game like it did with the Assassin’s Creed Chronicles trilogy.
